I’m Leigh, a fitness coach who is very much into the science behind nutrition, hypertrophy (building muscle) and health with a huge passion for helping others achieve their goals. Whether this be general fat loss, building muscle, improving sports performance and general health. My mission is to help people realise that they can do anything as long as if they employ the right strategies.
My journey started as a runner at the age of 5-years old. I participated at the top level in the United Kingdom, racing all around England, setting local records in events like 5,000m for my age group in my teenage years. However, I stopped running due to injuries that I developed, and instead I started lifting weights because I wanted to bulk up and build muscle. Initially, I found this hard, but after some discipline (gained from my athletic background). I learned to understand what works and what didn't work, suddenly I made some rapid progress.
Later, I went to university to study Biomedical science in the pursuit to become a cancer researcher, as I had a keen passion for helping others and massive interest in cancer research. After graduating, I realised I wasn't so keen on working in a lab so I wanted to help to prevent cancer via raising awareness about the importance of nutrition. On top of this, nutrition helped me build lots of muscle, and it was the biggest issue for me when it came to making progress in the gym. Once I understood it, I was able to make that rapid progress that I described earlier. This lead me to doing my Master's degree in Sports Nutrition to become a qualified nutritionist.
Since graduating with both degrees, I have been coaching people to success in the pursuit of their goals. Teaching them what works, and what doesn't based on my own experiences and scientific understanding. My approach is holistic, which combines coaching training, nutrition, sleep, mindset, and health into one to produce sustainable long term results that last a lifetime.
